Cuddly, kilted constable

07 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
BENDIGO police have welcomed a rather unusual character to the force - but don’t worry, he’s “beary cuddly”.

Constable T Bear has become one of Australia’s most popular and collectable bears and one of the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s big fund-raising projects.

The foundation perpetuates the memory of police killed in the line of duty.

It provides new and improved medical facilities in public hospitals around Victoria. The limited-edition bear costs $50 and is available from police stations, Bendigo Hospital gift shop and The Advertiser.

Proceeds from the sale go to the Constable William Benbow short-stay unit at Bendigo Hospital.
