Chrysler show aims for even more shine

07 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
BENDIGO’S Midstate Mopars Car Show will be presented in three streets of the CBD next year.

The car show continues to benefit the community in more ways than one, with $6000 from the show and shine being donated to Bendigo Health.

The funds will go towards a pediatric nitrous oxide unit for the Emergency Department that will be used in pain relief for children.

The Central Victorian Chrysler Club recorded its biggest show and shine earlier this year, and next year’s is set to be even bigger.

Between Williamson and Mundy streets, Hargreaves Street, Lyttleton Terrace and St Andrews Avenue will be blocked off for Chrysler enthusiasts.

Club treasurer Tim Miller said more than 300 cars were expected next year.

“This year we had more than 250 cars on display over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, with entries coming from as far afield as Adelaide and Mackay.

“This is our third year, and we’ve become the second biggest Chrysler show in Australia.

“The long weekend in June has been a quiet weekend for Bendigo.

“Now the town is basically booking out.”
