HOLIDAYMAKERS escaping the hustle and bustle of Bendigo were among campers on the banks of the Campaspe River near English’s Bridge yesterday.Strathdale residents Kevin Robinson and his son Jayden, and Alison Pannell and her son Declan, found a perfect spot to camp and cast a line on Sunday.“We only camped the one night, but the conditions were great,” said Ms Pannell, a Strathdale resident.“It was a good chance to get away and take advantage of our holidays,” said Mr Robinson.“It’s nice for the boys to get out and into some camping during their school break as well.”Up stream, some younger campers also found a quiet spot to watch a steady flow from the river pass them by.Their camping party included Bendigo residents Daniel Love, Emily Moss, Tom Stagg and Jayden McCarroll.Cooking up breakfast the group of campers said they had enjoyed a warm night with their only worry being the mosquitoes.“The mozzies were pretty bad, but otherwise it’s been great,” Mr Stagg said.
