MORE than 3000 Jehovah’s Witnesses will converge on Bendigo today for a three-day convention.
The convention, “Remain Close to Jehovah,” will be at the Bendigo Stadium and convention spokesman David Ray said the annual event attracted members from 37 congregations around Victoria.
“Bendigo is one of the few regional cities to host it,” he said.
Mr Ray said the convention would feature 47 speakers plus demonstrations, a full costume Bible drama and baptism by full water immersion.
“There is something for families, individuals, young people – everyone,” he said.
He said the message was to encourage and help people cope with modern challenges.
“It’s by far the most important three days on our calendar ,” he said.
“We’ve had several hundred volunteers working since 7am preparing for the convention. We are really looking forward to it.”
The baptism by full water immersion will be at noon tomorrow and the full costume Bible drama will be on Sunday at 1.30pm.
Mr Ray said the entire community was welcome and everyone would benefit from the program.
