Bendigo water storages soar

BENDIGO'S water storages are at their highest level since 2002 after the weekend's downpour.

Coliban Water storages are up to 77 per cent capacity, up 20 per cent in the last week.

Their share of Lake Eppalock, where Bendigo is supplied from, rose by almost 25 per cent.

Coliban Water is keeping a close eye on the Lauriston storage which is at 98.2 per cent capacity and still rising.

The Upper Coliban storage is recording inflows around 2000 megalitres a day and is at 82.2 per cent capacity while the flood gates have been opened at Malmsbury which is currently at 43 per cent capacity.

Overall Lake Eppalock was at 57 per cent capacity this morning with more than 173,000 megalitres in storage.

It was pushed to 51.8 per cent capacity over the weekend but rose to more than 57 per cent during this morning.

Cairn Curran Reservoir levels are now more than 74 per cent while Tullaroop Reservoir is spilling over at 100 per cent.

The Campaspe River downstream of Lake Eppalock peaked in Rochester just before midnight, at 8.25 metres, and had fallen to 6.74 metres late this afternoon.
