Axedale burn-off blaze sparks CFA warning

12 Mar, 2010 11:59 AM
A FIRE near Axedale had fire crews busy yesterday afternoon, including CFA volunteer Andrew Harvey.

The fire started when a burn-off got out of control at 2pm, burning about five acres of land at Bowles Road.

CFA Axedale brigade captain Peter Harkins said people could not be complacent as the bushfire season came to an end.

"It still proves how fires can get away, even after how much rain we’ve had," Mr Harkins said.
