Art takes to the streets

09 Feb, 2010 09:20 AM
BENDIGO’S streets have been transformed into an art gallery.

The Advertiser’s Art in the Streets kicked off with a launch party last night, signalling the beginning of two weeks of exhibitions.

Bendigo and Eaglehawk businesses will host 20 local artists for two weeks.

With 17 businesses in and around the Bendigo CBD and three in Eaglehawk there’s a range of local art on display.

Artists include painter Garry Taylor, felt artist Marg Hogan, contemporary silversmith Mel Stockx, sculptor Melanie Power and Andre Sardone, who uses Colorbond steel and recycled material in his work.

A full list of artists and participating artists can be found in The Advertiser or in the Art in the Streets brochure in any participating business or at the Bendigo Information Centre.

Artists have the chance to sell their work during the exhibition, while people can vote for their favourite artist by filling out the coupon in The Advertiser.
