With further rainfall possible on Thursday, totals of up to 20mm have ben forecast in the Avoca Catchment.
This rainfall is expected to lead to some small renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor flooding in the upper reaches of the Avoca River.
There has been no significant rainfall totals recorded since 9am today in the Avoca River catchment and little rainfall is expected for the remainder of today and tomorrow.
The Avoca River has peaked at Charlton and is falling.
Upstream of Yawong Weir:
Avoca River at Archdale Junction is continuing to fall.
Downstream of Yawong Weir:
The Avoca River at Yawong Weir fell below the Moderate Flood Level (4.3 metres), around 9am today, and is continuing to fall. The river is expected to fall below the Minor Flood Level (3.0 metres) tomorrow.
Charlton:
The Avoca River at Charlton down stream peaked around 7.3 metres (Moderate Flood Level 7.0 metres) around 9pm Monday. The river is expected to fall below the Moderate Flood Level tomorrow.
No data is available for the Charlton Town gauge, however it is estimated that the Charlton Town gauge is currently above the Moderate Flood Level (7.0 metres).
The Avoca River at Quambatook is currently at 1.17 metres (Minor Flood Level 2.0 metres) and rising, with a peak around the Major Flood Level (2.4 metres)
expected Friday or Saturday.
In the interests of community safety the SES suggests following precautions:
* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines
