3BO Radio presenter Ben Jones says it may not have been his greatest move turning down his girlfriend Aimee’s on-air proposal this morning.But he’s trying hard to patch things up following the public rejection.Aimee Parker tried to surprise her long-term boyfriend by calling the 3BO breakfast program this morning, to propose. Jones knocked the offer back, for now.“As flattered as I was, obviously I’d hope to do it at a more fitting time,” Ben Jones said.According to tradition, the leap year date of February 29 is a day for women to propose to their boyfriends.Aimee’s friends bought her flowers and sent text messages of support following the on-air refusal.This afternoon the two appeared on talking terms and enjoyed lunch together.
