Gun produced in Bendigo bottle shop dispute

THREE men were arrested following an incident involving a gun at the Newmarket Hotel bottle shop yesterday.

The three men attended the bottle shop about 4.30pm.

Police allege one of the men produced a gun after a dispute with patrons before fleeing the scene.

The men were arrested in Murphy Street, Bendigo, last night.

A 22-year-old man will face Bendigo Magistrates Court tomorrow.

He is charged with assault, assault with a weapon and a prohibited person with a handgun.

Police seized the sawn-off firearm during the Murphy Street raid.

Officers closed Murphy Street during the raid and subsequent arrests.
