Garry Angus case adjourned

23 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
A BENDIGO man charged with the murder of Pall Mall newsagent Garry Angus in October last year faced Bendigo Magistrates Court yesterday.

Antony Duguid, 46, appeared via video link for the committal hearing. His defence counsel Megan Aumair requested an adjournment so her client could be assessed and DNA evidence could be processed.

The court heard the DNA results would be made a priority.

Police allege Duguid stabbed Mr Angus to death in his NewsXpress store late on October 17.

Police said Angus’ wife had dropped him off at their newsagent to do book work about 10pm. She returned at 11.30pm and found his body in a rear storeroom.

Duguid is yet to enter a plea on the charge of murder.

The case was adjourned to April 18 for a further committal hearing.
