MONTHS before fascinators are donned and champagne chilled, the Bendigo Jockey Club has confirmed a certain starter for its biggest race day of the year.
Rebecca Twigley best known for wearing the red dress with the navel-deep neckline that wowed the 2004 Brownlow Medal count - will attend the Bendigo Cup on November 12.
The partner of Carlton captain Chris Judd is expected to judge fashions on the field and grace the trackside marquee as part of her visit.
"Rebecca is a Myer ambassador for racing - she attends a lot of country cups and is involved in the Flemington spring racing carnival - so we thought we'd try and get her down here," Myer Bendigo operations manager Paul Dynon said.
The La Trobe University speech pathology student relocated to Victoria with her boyfriend when the Brownlow medallist left the West Coast Eagles shortly after the 2007 season.
"We're very excited to have Rebecca here," Bendigo Jockey Club chief executive officer James Heddo said.
"It's very early days but we're looking forward to working with her to promote the cup.
"We've had fantastic support from Myer Bendigo and it's great to see that Rebecca has come on board."
Bookings for marquee and dining room packages for the 2008 Patchwood Imports Bendigo Cup are available from August 1.
