Anne Jones - Creative writer
Anne came to newpapers late in life but wishes she’d come earlier. She loves food, the cinema, long walks, train travel, reading and above all, working with words. She catches up with her two sons whenever possible, and loves visiting her two grandchildren and riding down the driveway on a scooter, or kicking a football with them.
Creative Services photographer - Brian Semmens
Brian Semmens has been a Bendigo Advertiser photographer since 2004, working part-time. The Semmens name in photography in Bendigo is a proud one, as Brian’s father Don operated the family photography business from 1961. Brian worked with his father from 1978, and has only recently stepped back from it. Since 2012 Brian has been full-time at the Bendigo Advertiser, working with the Creative Services team, and he says the variety of the daily work is what makes his day. Brian is the 2012 Victorian two-wheel drive rally champion, one of a bagful of championships he has won since 1999. He has been rallying for the past 27 years, and at state level for 15 years, with his long time co-driver local Bendigonian Dan Parry. He builds and rebuilds his chosen car – today’s favourite is a 1987 Nissan 200SX.

Role Creative Services Coordinator - Dawn Rasmussen
Dawn has been the creative services coordinator for five years. She says it’s like being in the eye of the storm, with all kinds of ‘weather patterns’ about to hit you. On any given day she can be found writing editorial for the real estate agents and sales reps, planning content for a special publication, quietly jamming too many jobs in the photographer’s diary, answering the telephone, and generally being charming to all. She finds rest and relaxation taking her aging mother on outings, in her role as the Bendigo Writers’ Council president, and as willing staff to her ginger cat Meggs. She is also a Radio National groupie, and and an avid Pinterest early adopter.
