NINO (D1): Finally, D2, we’ve reached the one time of year where it does not look too sad to be waiting outside the doors of department stores before they open.
Haven’t seen the odds for a white Christmas in Bendigo, but I’d imagine they would be as long as Shoaib Akhtar’s run-up.

D1: I want more trams in Bendigo. I know that in Melbourne they can be as annoying as Tony Greig, but I reckon Bendigo needs them.
We could have lines servicing each corner of the city, with park and ride facilities aplenty easing the no-car-space blues Bendigonians feel most days.

D1: Bendigo looks like one big Salvador Dali exhibition this week - everything is melting and we’re all a bit confused because it’s not even summer yet.
Speaking of art, the fists are flying over a painting hardly anybody here has seen.
I would love to see the William Abednego Thompson portrait, which depicts him as a boxer, and not as a drunk or revivalist preacher as he was also known. It seems quite fitting that Bendigo was named after a bloke who resembled him.

DOYEN 1: What a week to kick off the column Ricardo Carvalho. Banks and bashings, horses and lip hair, it’s all happening in Bendigo.
D2: Yes, it is indeed young Bucci. The new trends are certainly all the buzz at the moment but it seems Bendigo cannot forget its rich past either.
